There are many apps out there for writing, but some of us still kick it old school with the books. To wit, the photo above is Pete’s GO TO shelf of offline tools. Whether he’s writing an article, drafting a post-apocalyptic short story, or crafting a realistic fight scene, there’s something in these books to reference. Material to develop plots and characters, getting the science right (or right-ish), crafting a credible fantasy religion, or sharpening his craft—it’s all here. He particularly cherishes ye olde schoole Roget’s with its olde time words that are often omitted from modern thesauruses. |
