Meet Pete Aldin

This article first appeared in The Working Margins, our newsletter.

Like many authors, the roots of Pete Aldin’s storytelling lie in his younger years. His adolescence saw him penning song lyrics, comedy skits and fan fic. But it wasn’t until his 40th birthday that Pete took the writing part of his self seriously and began to intentionally learn the craft from writing coaches, mentors and writing groups. He finally completed the first draft of a novel in 2009, and sold his first short story to a “professional” market the following year.

Away from the fiction space, Pete Aldin has written and edited bid documents for a global logistics company to secure contracts with the Departments of Defence for the USA, Australia and New Zealand. As a life coach, he sold non-fiction articles to parenting magazines and CEO Online. More recently, he has edited several novels and short stories for other authors.

The differences between his pen names Pete Aldin versus Peter J Aldin delineates the two kinds of fiction he publishes: dark, brutal, sweary, thriller-based fiction on the one hand; more adventure-focused and uplifting fiction on the other.
